About Rekindling

SHALOM and APODECHOMAI!

These Hebrew and Greek words literally mean 'safety' and 'take fully', and are most often translated 'peace' and welcome'. So we here at Rekindling truly hope that you are safe and well. And we welcome you fully to our site and community!

REKINDLING was first imagined back in the summer of 2002. Its initial focus was to help people discover what their God-crafted calling in life was. But as we researched and developed the concept, we realized that finding our 'niche' in life should be the third item on our priority lists. Of more importance is serving others, unconditionally showing agape love to friends and enemies alike. And our top priority is to love, worship, honor and serve God, the Creator of the Universe. Catholic mystic Thomas Merton said, I don't worship God so that I can live; I live so that I can worship God. We want to embrace that same philosophy!

And so we have combined all three goals. For by excitedly pursuing the niche God has designed for you, you will be impacting others in some very specific way, and will be glorifying God through your faith and obedience. It is a win-win-win situation!

So we aim to REKINDLE OUR PASSION FOR GOD, pursuing an intimate relationship with the Ancient of Days, the King of Kings!

We aim to REKINDLE OUR PASSION FOR EVERYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET, looking to serve and enjoy the company of others!

And lastly, we aim to REKINDLE OUR PASSION FOR OURSELVES, finding and striving for our incredible, perfectly-designed niches in life!

So if all this resonates within you, if it seems more than just fluff talk, if it seems real and possible to you, then come join us! Be forewarned that we are imperfect, we make mistakes and we frequently drift off our paths. But we also lean on one another, return to the path and keep our inner fires kindled! The more there are of us like-hearted and like-minded people living this way, the more of a blast this journey will be. So if you are willing to admit your short-comings and embrace God's perfection, read on!
