The Staff
Board Member and Rekindler, Mr. Jeff Magill:
I was born and raised in a small town on Long Island called Babylon. Being the youngest of three sons, I spent a lot of
time joking, arguing, and all that trouble that brothers get themselves into. I was baptized, raised and confirmed in a
small Presbyterian church where I learned the basics of the Christian faith.
Later, I moved to Albany, NY to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where I majored in computer science and graphic
design. From there I moved to Washington, DC to work as a software engineer with Lockheed Martin. Years later, I would leave
Lockheed to join Fleishman Hillard, a public relations firm. There I continued the tech theme as a web developer.
In Washington DC, I was turned on to McLean Bible Church. I have made MBC my church home and attend Frontline, the young
adult service. Here, I have been becoming more and more active within ministries and missions and it was during a mission
trip to Palestine and Israel where Shannon Kirkpatrick and I met. It was during this time that Shannon first shared his
enthusiasm for starting the Rekindling program and its mission.
During spare time, I like to be doing anything outside – mountain biking, snowboarding, the occasional hike, or anything
else totally XtrEm3!!!1 I spend a lot of time reading and I am most interested in Christian apologetics. It's this passion
for defending the Christian faith that makes me thankful that I spent 18 years arguing with two older brothers :)

Rekindling the Body Coordinator, Mr. John Ruff:
I was born in the Philippines while my father was doing missionary work teaching English and sharing the Gospel. My adolescent
years I grew-up a military kid living all over the US and overseas. I've had the opportunity to see, experience and live
in many diverse places, all of which have molded me into the person I am today. I manifested my creative wild side while
moving from city to city or country to country learning to adapt and fit in my environment.
I was raised in a loving Christian home. Being from a Christian home didn't preclude me from the struggles and tribulations
of life; stumbling in my walk with the Lord in college like the prodigal son. God welcomed me home with arms wide open and
filled me with knowing how deep and how wide His love is really is. God rejoices when one of His children returns home who
was lost but now is found. I've been through some difficult times but these experiences have taught me how to truly trust
IN God. The difficulties have made me more aware of His great love for me, and that I can depend on Him because He is sovereign.
God is good ALL the time,
2 Corinthians 9:8.
I am most passionate about my love for the Lord and living my life in order to please, honor Him and bless others. God is
in the slums, in the cardboard boxeswhere the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child
that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity
and lives, and God is with us if we are there with them. I have been blessed to serve on and lead international mission
trips to serve the orphaned, the poor, and the needy - being His hands, feet and a light in the darkness to share His love,
Isaiah 58:9-11.
It's not a coincidence that in scripture, poverty is mentioned more than 2,100 imes. It's not an accident. That's a lot
of air time, 2,100 mentions. (You know, the only time Christ is judgmental is on the subject of the poor.) 'As you have
done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me',
Matthew 25:40.
I am blessed to serve on the Rekindling board and be part of the leadership team. There are seven folds to the Rekindling
body and I am privileged to serve as the leader for the Body, Mark 12:29-31.The Body is our physical shell, and the source
of all our physical needs. It is the final assistant to the Soul, serving two functions. First, it tells the Soul what it
needs and what it wants, whether it be sleep, food, action, warmth, protection or more. Second, it is the agent of implementation
for the Soul, carrying out the Soul's decisions.
The Body strives to be active hands and feet in our communities to serve those around us in need of help. From local service
projects to planning an international mission trip, we seek to love our neighbor and share the love of God though our actions
of service in His name. They will know we are Christians by His love we share.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will
abound in every good work.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
"If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for
me.'
