Know His Kingdom II
As we work through the basics, we can move into the details of the Kingdom. The finer points of our citizenship. All of it is anchored on the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us the truth of Christ, who takes our prayers and groanings to the LORD, and who gives us the knowledge, desire and strength to obey all the parts of the Bible.
How to do all this
Learning from Isaiah 11:2-3, we see that while Christ is the King and Master with all authority, it is the Holy Spirit that will enable us to live as Christ-centered people.
Led by the Spirit
Walk in the Spirit. Be led by the Spirit. Be controlled by the Spirit. Be filled with the Spirit. We must enmesh ourselves in this truth, fully comprehending what it means and how it works.
Fruit of the Spirit
Love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, temperance. Learning what each of these mean, and recognizing that our goal is to make them happen, but rather to let the Spirit provide them through us.
Gifts of the Spirit
Full of debate on which ones exist and which ones don't, the Church needs to pursue them regardless. Breaking down what they are and how they work, a Christian who uses the Gifts he or she is given will radically impact those around him or her. Take this seriously and get excited about it!
Armor of the Spirit / Spiritual Warfare
Ephesians 6 explains the defenses God provides for us, to keep the enemy at bay. The enemy takes us seriously, so we should take them seriously. And prepare. When we get on God's Radar, we get on the enemy's radar. So let God protect you, give you the strength to resist the enemy, and deliver you from their clutches. All of this centers on prayer.
7 Folds, 7 Roles & 7 Environments
Recognize the 7-fold life (heart, soul, mind, body, resources, relationships and balance), know and emulate the 7 roles of Christ (Encourager, Warrior, Teacher, Servant, Steward, Socialite and Child) and be prepared for the 7 environments of life (emotional mountain and valleys, supernatural waters, confusing forests of paths, busy cities pulling our attention, refreshing countrysides and soaring skies).
